Par is the expected number of strokes for a hole. A score of 4 on a par 4 is even for that hole. One under par is a birdie, two under is an eagle, one over is a bogey, and two over is a double bogey.
Gross score is the actual number of strokes. Net score applies handicap adjustments. If your event uses handicaps, label net results clearly so viewers know why standings differ from raw stroke totals.
An 18-hole card is often split into front nine and back nine totals. Checking each side separately helps catch addition errors before the final total is published.
Golf scorecards may track individual players, groups, or team totals. Make sure the format chosen in the scanner matches the card being uploaded.
